Quelsys And Learnon.org Partner To Link E-Learning With Engineering And IT Distance Education

March 15, 2001

The American Society for Engineering Education’s continuing education initiative, Learnon.org, today announced a partnership with Quelsys, a market leader in B2B e-learning. Quelsys produces SocratEase 3.0, a powerful e-learning platform that enables individuals to create online training courses quickly and easily.

Learnon.org, a free searchable database of continuing engineering and IT courses, was launched in October 2000. Engineering and IT professionals, university educators and students, can search more than 4,500 courses in the ever-changing fields of engineering and technology in both traditional classroom and distance learning formats. Courses are provided by 73 national universities and professional societies and will soon include international university and organization offerings.

With access to Quelsys products, like SocratEase 3.0, Learnon.org visitors will now be able to create and implement their own online courses or supplement existing classroom courses. SocratEase 3.0 is suitable for e-learning projects of all sizes, from enterprise-wide Web-based universities to project-specific training.

Peter M. Cholnoky, president and CEO of Quelsys, said, “Our partnership with Learnon will provide engineering professionals with a self-serve, fully scalable eLearning platform and empower knowledge experts to share valuable information within their organizations and with other members of the ASEE.”

The Learnon/Quelsys partnership kicks off a new initiative for the nonprofit Learnon.org, which is expanding to include a new database of companies that provide software and technology solutions for educators to enhance distance learning programs.
