Using a Web-Enhanced Approach for Internship Planning, Implementation, and Assessment
Internships and other types of field placements have become a focal point of the senior year experience for students majoring in a wide variety of academic disciplines. The purpose of this paper is to describe some of the key challenges associated with the implementation of an experiential learning requirement and related technology-based solutions that have been implemented and field-tested within a university internship program. The paper also includes practical suggestions for using technology to
enhance the supervision of internships and other field placements within the undergraduate curriculum.
