University of Phoenix Online Campus and Corporate University Xchange Partner To Offer e-Learning Management Certificate Program

July 19, 2001

University of Phoenix and Corporate University Xchange, Inc. announced a partnership to develop and deliver an e-Learning management certificate program to be taught by experienced leaders in corporate e-Learning.

This one-of-a-kind program will assist corporations by providing them with the latest strategies and “best practices” for using the Internet to improve their corporate training and expand their intellectual capital.

Taught via the Internet by a team of the nation’s top Chief Learning Officers from global corporations including Dell, Deloitte & Touche Consulting, Motorola and Cisco Systems, this 25-week, 5 course program will utilize a unique collaborative approach, enabling students to interact with experienced instructors who understand the issues. These practitioner instructors, all hailing from corporations that have implemented and benefited from e-Learning programs, will share strategic advice, success stories, and “best practice” recommendations.

“As a successful innovator in online education, University of Phoenix is pleased to partner with Corporate University Xchange to bring corporate trainers one of the most comprehensive programs available in e-Learning today. We have brought the best of our collective experience together to develop and deliver this certificate program,” said Jay Goin, Vice President of Product Development at the University of Phoenix Online Campus. “We know that professionals want to learn from instructors who have real-world experience. They want to apply lessons immediately to their own workplace and to collaborate with others on the important issues. This program allows for that, and it does so using a format and learning model that is both convenient and accessible.”

“With the tremendous shift from classroom based learning to e-learning, Training managers and their staff need new skills and competencies to design, manage and market e-Learning programs within their organizations,” said Jeanne Meister, President of CUX. “While more and more organizations are embracing e-learning, we are discovering that very few are actually managing this new technology effectively. University of Phoenix Online and Corporate University Xchange are tackling this issue head-on by creating a totally new online training program and resource center. We will provide training managers with the knowledge, strategies and most importantly, the access to practitioners who have successfully designed and managed e-learning programs.”

The first of the five courses titled “Introduction to e-Learning Management” will begin on September 19, 2001 and will run for five weeks.
