SchoolTech Expo Returns to New York City With Technology Training For Educators
NEW YORK — CMP Media Inc., publisher of Technology & Learning magazine, will hold the fourth annual SchoolTech Exposition & Conference (www.schooltechexpo.com) in New York later this month. The technology conference & exposition, which provides technological professional development to over 3,000 K-12 educators each year will take place March 28-31, 2001, at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City.
SchoolTech Exposition & Conference is produced and programmed by the staff of TECHNOLOGY & LEARNING magazine, and provides educators a rich venue for professional growth and training. The conference will feature more than 100 one-hour conference sessions, 40 half-day workshops, hands-on labs, keynote addresses from education leaders and over 100 education technology solutions providers showcasing the latest hardware, software, Internet and distance learning products and services for the K-12 market.
This year’s conference also features a Wednesday pre-conference Leadership Institute on March 28, designed specifically for district and school leaders, including superintendents, principals and technology directors. The institute will address professional development, accountability, and total cost of ownership for technology staffing and support, as well as a look at what’s in the future for Educational Technology.
SchoolTech will also feature two special afternoon events. The Showcase of Exemplary Schools, which takes place on Thursday, March 29, highlights award-winning schools from around the nation. During Friday’s Interactive Classroom, students will demonstrate the innovative ways technology is being successfully integrated into the K-12 classroom.
More than one hundred breakout sessions provide vital information for educators involved in school-wide technology planning and implementation. Experts will offer educators ideas on practical solutions and insights into working curricula from around the country. Conference attendees will be able to present questions and receive viable answers.
“Since its inception, Technology & Learning’s SchoolTech Expo was designed as a supplement to the education system’s strained training and technical resources,” said Vice President of CMP Media’s Vertical Markets Group, Jill Thiry Bowers. “Attending this event provides essential learning tools which help educators accelerate the integration of technology into both the classroom and administrative processes.”
Additional information about the SchoolTech Expo and Conference can be found on the Web at www.schooltechexpo.com. Registration forms can be completed online until March 23rd., or at the Marriott on the days of the event.
