Plateau Systems Once Again Named One Of Virginia’s Fastest-Growing Companies In 2004 ‘Fantastic 50’
ARLINGTON, VIRGINIA – May 3, 2004 – Plateau Systems, the leading provider of enterprise software that manages learning and knowledge readiness, today announced that it has been named one of Virginia’s “Fantastic 50” for the second year in a row. The Virginia Chamber of Commerce gives the award to the state’s 50 fastest-growing private companies. Plateau President and COO Brian Murphy received the company’s honors at an April 29 banquet at the Westfields Marriott in Chantilly, Va.
The 50 winning companies for 2004 were recognized for the contribution they make to the economy by creating new jobs and capital investment. The Chamber ranked the winners in order of their revenue growth over a four-year period from 1999 to 2002; Plateau was the 6th company listed, with 1,026 percent growth over that period. Plateau’s rapid revenue growth has not come at the expense of sound business execution. The company has been profitable for the last five quarters, and it posted a significant net income for 2003.
“We’re proud to once again be recognized as one of the fastest-growing private companies in Virginia, particularly because we’ve remained profitable while sustaining that growth,” said Murphy. “This award is a testament to the hard work of our employees and the quality of the product and services we deliver to Global 2000 customers, nonprofit associations and government agencies. We would also like to thank the Arlington Chamber of Commerce, which has been a reliable and important partner for us as we’ve expanded our business.”
Nominations for the Fantastic 50 were sought statewide from local chambers, economic development organizations, and through the sponsors’ networks. Companies could also nominate themselves. To be eligible, companies were required to be privately held, with headquarters in Virginia, and to show sales between $200,000 and $100 million. Verification of all award entries was conducted by the professional service firm of Goodman and Company.
The Fantastic 50 award program is sponsored by the Virginia Chamber, Virginia Business Magazine, Goodman and Company, SunTrust Bank and Westfields Marriott.
