In addition to the extensive technology courses available to teachers, OnlineLearning.net is also offering the College Counseling Certificate program exclusively online. Recently, we introduced this certificate program, which had been a staple for UCLA Extension, through OnlineLearning.net, explained Kathleen McGuire, Ph.D., Director of the Distance Learning Programs at UCLA Extension. In California, for instance, a teacher needs a credential to be a counselor, but that doesnt address college counseling. With the highly competitive nature of college admissions, students need to be advised early on in their education about such things as taking AP [advanced placement] courses. Our courses comprise the only certificate program that targets this very important area for counseling students about their futures. This program has been a pretty successful online program, so much so that were going to offer it exclusively online in the near future.
OnlineLearning.net offers a wide range of programs of study for educators, including Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) and Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), which are bringing together teachers from countries worldwide.
