NYUonline Licenses iAuthor Software to Tech Resource Group

November 6, 2001

NYUonline, Inc.announced that Tech Resource Group (TRG), a top learning solutions provider, selected NYUonline’s iAuthorâ„¢ content management system and authoring tool to develop online learning for its Fortune 500 clients.

The license agreement provides TRG with NYUonline’s leading-edge system that allows subject matter experts anywhere in the world to collaborate in creating e-learning courseware over the Internet. TRG will use iAuthor to develop custom e-learning content, to re-purpose existing content for online delivery and to expand its customizable business library.

All content built with iAuthor is in learning object format and conforms to the new SCORM standard, thereby making it interoperable with all compliant learning management systems.

“We are very pleased Tech Resource Group has selected iAuthor from the many authoring tools available on the market,” said Gordon Macomber, President and CEO of NYUonline. “TRG is a leader in the training market and iAuthor will be instrumental in helping them help their clients compete more successfully in the new economy.”

“We tested iAuthor for a period of time and found that it perfectly suits our needs,” said John H. Wingen, President and CEO of TRG. “iAuthor will play an important role in helping us to create engaging electronic content more rapidly. Our ability to respond quickly to learner needs is critical to our success and iAuthor will help us sustain our competitive advantage.”

More than a simple authoring tool, iAuthor is an advanced content management system. Through a set of advanced Internet applications, iAuthor allows company subject-matter experts, trainers, writers, and artists in different locations to use the Internet to quickly develop sophisticated e-Learning courses in object format. Not only is this system web-based, but the entire process of creating the courseware is also web-based, giving corporations the opportunity to build content in a fast and cost-efficient manner. NYUonline initially created iAuthor for its own use, to produce content the way companies and institutions want it — quickly, easily, and in short segments that can be readily updated and reused. iAuthor’s leading principles are collaborative development, content in learning object format, and ease of use.
