McGraw-Hill Lifetime Learning Provides Training for Online Trainers
McGraw-Hill Lifetime Learning (MHLL), a leading provider of comprehensive e-learning solutions, today announced that it has added to its range of professional learning services, the Walden Institute’s Certified Online Instructor (COI) and Certified Synchronous Instructor (CSI) programs to train and certify training professionals in online instruction practices and design.
MHLL and Walden Institute, a leader in providing online certificate and professional development programs in business, management and technology will offer both COI and CSI courses delivered entirely over the Internet. This joint marketing and distribution effort provides MHLL customers the opportunity to purchase the courses through MHLL while enabling Walden to promote their courses worldwide. McGraw-Hill Lifetime Learning is a division of McGraw-Hill Education, part of The McGraw-Hill Companies (NYSE: MHP).
MHLL’s rapidly growing e-learning catalog now contains more than 1,400 courses in such areas as business, executive development, IT training, industrial and safety skills, human resource and organizational essentials, adult basic education, personal effectiveness and business language training. MHLL courses are offered in more than nine languages and are AICC and SCORM compliant.
“By offering Walden’s Certified Online Instructor and Certified Synchronous Instructor Programs, MHLL continues to add to the depth of our comprehensive course library,” said Patricia Leonard, president of McGraw-Hill Lifetime Learning. “By helping to train the trainers, we will continue to help drive the growth of e-learning as a corporate training tool.”
The three-month COI certification program teaches individuals to design courses and programs that use interactive, Web-based technologies. It is offered in two different versions, COI for Training Professionals and COI for Higher Education Faculty. The courses instruct trainers and educators on how to address the professional development needs of employees or to design and develop online courses.
Also available through MHLL and Walden is the CSI Program, enabling corporate instructors and subject matter experts to design and deliver live Web-based courses and programs within their organizations. CSI teaches practical applications and techniques that can be easily implemented and will enable organizations to achieve measurable results.
“The opportunity to work with McGraw-Hill Lifetime Learning to co-market and distribute our online instructor professional development programs to the national and global marketplace is something that we are looking forward to,” said Bob Scales, CEO of Walden e-Learning Inc., the parent company of Walden Institute. “MHLL is rapidly emerging as a major force in e-learning. It is a well respected company which will provide a solid foundation for us to reach our goals of providing high quality, online management development programs worldwide.”
