The schools will use Lightspan eduTest Assessment to deliver benchmark and formative assessments to students, providing teachers and administrators with accurate, real-time information on student, classroom and school progress toward the district’s academic performance goals.
Gwen Edwards, Chairman of Region 8 said: “We selected Lightspan based on the company’s extensive track record at successful districtwide and regional implementations. We expect Lightspan eduTest Assessment to play a critical role in our ongoing commitment to meeting state and federal accountability and reporting requirements.”
Lightspan Chairman and CEO John Kernan stated: “School districts across the country are depending on Lightspan to help them track student progress and report on Adequate Yearly Progress, as required under the federal No Child Left Behind Act. We are proud to be selected by the schools in this important region and look forward to building upon the successful relationship we’ve established over the past three years.”
Under the agreement, Region 8 also extended its current contract for The Lightspan Network another three years. Implementation is scheduled to begin in the fall.
