eResearchTechnology Announces the Launch of Web-Based Training Services for Clinical Research Professionals

March 27, 2002

PHILADELPHIA, –eResearchTechnology, Inc. (Nasdaq: ERES – news; eRT), a leading e-research technology and services provider, today

announced the launch of its eHealth Education™ interactive Web-based training

services.

The eHealth Education distance learning curriculum is designed to meet the

demands of geographically dispersed study personnel at sponsors, CROs, and sites.

Initial courseware focuses on eRT’s Accelerator Series, which delivers end-to-end

clinical research solutions including integrated trial, data, and safety management

software (eResNet™), electronic data capture software (EDC), and clinical

information portal software (eResCom™), through a monthly subscription. eHealth

Education is delivered as an eResCom Web portal service.

The eHealth Education platform supports the customization of courseware to

support protocol, program or company specific extensions. It can also be leveraged

to create unique offerings that address related topics, such as Good Clinical

Practices and Validation. Additional capabilities are designed to monitor subscriber

access and progress.

"The launch of eHealth Education is an important element in our strategy

to provide a comprehensive platform of products and services to accelerate clinical

research and enhance effectiveness of trial initiatives,” said Scott Grisanti,

senior vice president of business development and chief marketing officer for

eRT. "The ability to deliver web-based, self-paced educational offerings

enables organizations to more effectively ensure appropriate training is delivered

to all stakeholders — sponsors, CROs, and site personnel. In particular, distance

learning is an excellent mechanism to deliver the depth and quality of training

required for effective EDC site deployment.”

"eHealth Education is an extremely cost and time effective method for

providing both initial and ongoing education,” said Ricky Dolphin, director

of eRT’s Academy. "Retention is maximized because the eHealth Education

course content is designed specifically for the web according to established

Instructional Systems Design (ISD) principles and it is delivered using a highly

interactive environment. Combined with the ability to create instant customized

learning paths and recorded knowledge certification via the learning management

system, eHealth Education will redefine learning expectations and accelerate

trial startup.”
