Court Extends Order Barring Students From Exposing Holes in Blackboard’s Debit-Card System
Judge Anne Workman, of Superior Court in Decatur, Ga., issued the temporary restraining order on Saturday at Blackboard’s request. The students — Billy Hoffman, of the Georgia Institute of Technology, and Virgil Griffith, of the University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa — were set to discuss security holes in the Blackboard Transaction System at a conference last weekend. But Blackboard officials said their talk could facilitate massive fraud and security breaches at colleges throughout the country.
