Comments of the American Council on Education on State Authorization in 2011
These comments, submitted on behalf of 60 higher education associations and accrediting organizations, expressed serious concern regarding the state authorization regulations in Section 600.9 of the Oct. 29, 2010, final program integrity rule, which significantly expand and complicate the existing federal requirements for institutions to be “legally authorized” in a state.
