Click2learn Introduces comprehensive certification program
BELLEVUE, WA – Click2learn (NASDAQ: CLKS) introduced today a comprehensive certification program for standards-based learning management systems to certify that they are fully compatible with its award-winning ToolBook authoring software.
The ToolBook Open Standards Certification Program will test learning management systems that comply with AICC (Aviation Industry CBT Committee) and SCORM (Sharable Content Object Reference Model) specifications, to officially verify that they can seamlessly integrate courses created in ToolBook.
ToolBook, which is both AICC-certified and SCORM-compliant, is the most widely used course content authoring tool in the e-Learning industry. As such, Click2learn’s program will serve as an important piece of verification for e-Learning developers who rely on ToolBook to create fully interactive, standards-compliant learning content that needs to integrate with a learning management system, said Brad Crain, Vice President, Learning Tools, for Click2learn.

Compliance testing for Click2learn’s ToolBook Open Standards Certification Program is open now in the United States. Click2learn’s European division will offer testing later in June for learning management system vendors outside of the United States.
To become certified, learning management systems providers must pass the ToolBook Open Standards Certification testing, now in version 1.0. The test suites and corresponding verification enable the learning management system provider to perform the test at their own facility and are free of charge. The suite of tests verify the technical framework established by AICC and SCORM for interoperability between assignable content and learning management systems.
