Charter Communications Chooses Click2learn’s Aspen Suite to Power Company-Wide Learning
BELLEVUE, Wash.–Sept. 5, 2002–Click2learn (Nasdaq:CLKS) today announced that Charter Communications, Inc. (Nasdaq:CHTR) one of the top broadband communications companies in the U.S., has selected the Aspen Enterprise Learning Platform(TM), the industry’s most comprehensive e-learning solution, to drive the development and delivery of training content to more than 18,000 employees across 40 states.
“To remain successful, companies in the broadband communications industry must be able to respond effectively and efficiently to continually evolving technology,” said Kevin Oakes, chairman and CEO of Click2learn. “Using Aspen, Charter can deliver dynamic, just-in-time information to a wide range of employees, allowing everyone access to the information they need, when they need it. The result is significantly increased productivity and an overall increase in both employee and customer satisfaction.”
Charter will use the Aspen suite’s Learning Management Server
(LMS) and Learning Content Management Server (LCMS) to facilitate learning across the company by making relevant information available in any location at any time. Charter will capture, manage and deliver information that will enable all employees to improve critical skills, assess learning needs, and improve overall productivity. Aspen will also power the CharterCareerZone, an internal tool that enables employees to assess their job strengths, identify learning gaps and determine the appropriate training necessary to move within the Charter organization.
“Charter Communications is a company dedicated to providing its customers with a single means by which to connect and communicate,” said Laura Mainville Guenther, Charter’s vice-president of Learning & Development. “In our efforts to leverage training to increase efficiency, improve the speed and quality of course development, and facilitate career assessments and personalized learning, Click2learn’s Aspen platform, which delivers full functionality in a single, integrated platform, was an obvious choice.”
