(U-WIRE) PRINCETON, N.J. — Princeton University, together with Stanford University, Yale and Oxford Universities, is preparing to offer online distance learning courses for alumni. The joint project, to which each school has pledged $3 million, is called the University Alliance for Life Long Learning.
Mike Allen, associate registrar, said the photos enhance the ability of instructors to learn the students’ names and ensure that students won’t have someone else take classes for them.
(U-WIRE) SEATTLE — The University of Washington’s Human Interface Technology Laboratory (HIT lab) received the seventh Satava award for its virtual-reality and medical work. The Satava award is given every year to those that made major contributions to the medical community.
The address, which preceded an award’s ceremony where 31 faculty and staff members were honored, introduced two initiatives for the first time — two master’s degree programs the university will offer through its Virtual University and the STEPS Program.
