AAOU [The Asian Association of Open Universities]congratulates Prof Kanwar on her appointment as COL President
The Asian Association of Open Universities (AAOU) welcomes the appointment of Professor Asha Kanwar as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Commonwealth of Learning (COL) effective from 1 June 2012 succeeding Sir John Daniel, whose term as COL’s President ends on 31 May 2012.
Prof Kanwar, presently Vice President of COL, is to become the first woman to lead this international organisation established by Commonwealth Heads of Government. The purpose of the COL is to promote the development of open learning and distance education throughout the 54 countries of the Commonwealth via the sharing of resources, knowledge and technology.
