“Bloodborne Pathogens,” a computer-based training (CBT) course package
The U.S. Department of Energy Carlsbad Field Office (CBFO) is making
“Bloodborne Pathogens,” a computer-based training (CBT) course package,
available to businesses, government agencies, educational institutions,
non-profits, consultants, students, and citizens at no cost to recipients.
This CBT course performs the following:
- Discusses the most serious bloodborne pathogens, such as the Hepatitis B
virus and HIV
- Familiarizes trainees with possible routes of exposure
- Identifies steps to take against these health hazards
This course is designed to fulfill Occupational Safety & Health Administration
(OSHA) training requirements concerning bloodborne pathogens established in
the Federal Code of Regulations (29 CFR 1910.1030). This is a complete,
turnkey CBT course that can be used without modification. It includes
interactive exercises to help trainees master the material. It requires the
Macromedia Authorware Web Player, which is available at no cost at
Macromedia’s website.

allowing you to download a zipped file containing the course directly from the
web site. You can then use the course for internal training, educational,
