The third in a series of six virtual conferences begins on 1 April 2002:

Subscription and participation in the virtual conferences is open to anyone

and there is no cost. A web-based archive of discussions is available to subscribers.

Over 200 people subscribed to March’s virtual conference on "Technology

and Lifelong Learning", which followed February’s discussion on "Bridging

the Digital Divide". The moderators’ summaries and recommendations will

appear on COL’s web site when available.

The virtual conferences have been organised by the Federation of Commonwealth

Open and Distance Learning Associations (FOCODLA) and The Commonwealth of Learning

(COL) as a lead-up to the second Pan-Commonwealth Forum on Open Learning, to

be held at the International Convention Centre in Durban, South Africa, from

Monday, 29 July to Friday, 2 August 2002. Technical support for the virtual

conferences is being provided by COL.
