Centra to Host Industry’s First Online Conference Aimed at Promoting Dialog Between IT and Business Executives on Digital Collaboration

August 25, 2002

LEXINGTON, MA (August 23, 2002) – Centra (NASDAQ: CTRA), the leading provider of integrated, software solutions for real-time business communication and collaboration, today announced that it will host the industry’s first online conference dedicated to helping business and IT professionals develop an enterprise collaboration strategy. This two-day virtual event, to be held on Tuesday, September 17, and Wednesday, September 18, will feature a series of interactive online presentations by leading IT analysts and Fortune 500 executives, including AMR Research, Gartner Group, Collaborative Strategies, Deloitte Consulting, Microsoft, Cisco Systems, Grant Thornton, Cingular Wireless, and Wachovia.

As companies seek to streamline operational efficiency, lower costs, leverage existing infrastructure investments, and address the proliferation of disparate systems for collaboration across the enterprise, more IT organizations are looking to standardize on next-generation platforms for Web-based communication and collaboration. This first annual eConference on digital collaboration, entitled “Powering the Real-time Enterprise,” is designed to initiate dialog between IT and business executives on enterprise collaboration strategies and standards – from approaching an enterprise collaboration decision to implementing secure systems and getting the most out of your investment.

In addition to case studies, strategy discussions, and research findings that illustrate how real-time communication and collaboration can contribute to corporate agility, the eConference will feature keynote addresses by industry leading technology experts. Bruce Richardson, Senior Vice President at AMR Research will kick off the program, September 17, with “The Alchemy of Real-time Business.” This session will define the ‘real-time enterprise’ and how Internet collaboration technologies can help maximize business performance. This will be followed by two afternoon tracks that focus on specific tactics and strategies for business and IT executives. Session topics include “Tips for Introducing Collaboration Enterprise-wide,” “Creating a Real-time Culture,” and “Leveraging Your Existing IT Infrastructure for Collaboration.” On September 18, Jim Jacobs, Research Director at Gartner Group, will provide an online keynote address examining the value of enterprise collaboration investments and their impact on today’s business environment. Afternoon sessions include “Defining Your Business Requirements: Structuring an RFP” and “Web Collaboration: Ensuring the Security of Your Data.”
