NJIT [New Jersey Institute of Technology] Implements SCT Luminis Content Management Suite To Communicate Its Well-Respected Brand
ANAHEIM, Calif. (EDUCAUSE 2003) – November 7, 2003 – The New Jersey Institute of Technology is successfully using the SCT Luminis Content Management Suite to better communicate its brand image and institutional excellence to visitors of its Web site.
SCT (Nasdaq:SCTC) is highlighting the Institute’s achievements at EDUCAUSE 2003, the premier IT event for higher education, in Anaheim, California, Nov. 4-7.
“We want to communicate to visitors of NJIT.edu that we are a well-respected, public research university that prepares students to be leaders in the 21st century,” said David Ullman, associate provost for information services & technology and chief information officer at NJIT. “With our new Web site, we are able to communicate that message with a clean, innovative, and cutting-edge appeal. By applying the SCT Luminis technologies, our Web site information is always consistent, relevant, and accurate, regardless of who visits or where they click.”
NJIT implemented the SCT Luminis Content Management Suite in support of its re-branding initiative to enhance the quality and consistency of constituents’ Web site experiences. “Our Web site had grown organically over the years,” recalled Ullman. “There was no consistent brand throughout the site and no consistency in navigation. It created a difficult experience for end users.”
The SCT Content Management Suite is allowing the University to convert its thousands of Web pages to a collection of consistent and well-branded templates that make contributing information as well as navigating the site much easier. Now non-technical content contributors throughout NJIT are able to efficiently and quickly add and update information, keeping the site fresh and informative.
“Every interaction that constituents have with NJIT-whether online or offline-shapes their perceptions of our institution,” added Ullman. “By using SCT Luminis technologies, we have enhanced the quality and consistency of our constituents’ Web site experiences, and thus improved their perception of NJIT.”
