New Open Source Distance Learning / Course Managment Software Launch
The event scheduled for November 20th, 2003, will begin at 10:00 AM and run through the remainder of the day, covering the system’s history, benefits and feature set. The event is open to any IT staff, faculty or departmental staff at an educational institution that has an interest in increasing distance learning productivity, lowering total cost of ownership of any distance learning package or extending current distance learning capabilities. Tap Internet, Inc. staff will present EduCreate in their on-site training lab and will distribute copies of EduCreate for free to those that attend. EduCreate provides a way for educational institutions to adopt an open system that does not come with any up-front cost. For colleges who do not currently have a distance learning system as well as for those who are locked into recurring fees with other commercial systems, this could provide some relief to strained budgets. Since EduCreate will be available as a free download, Tap Internet will provide the needed commercial services such as integration services, support contracts, on-site training and custom enhancements to those institutions that request it. Educational institutions benefit from having no up-front cost to adopt the system and have the peace of mind that if something goes wrong they have someone to call.

EduCreate is a new Distance Learning system built in conjunction with Tarrant County College’s Center for Distance Learning of Fort Worth, Tx.
