PHOENIX, Arizona (June 30, 2004) – iLinc Communications, Inc. (AMEX: ILC), developers of one of the most feature-rich and secure integrated Web and audio conferencing solutions available, announced that National University has purchased 250 iLinc licenses to fulfill its enterprise-wide Web conferencing and collaboration needs. National University will deploy the full iLinc product suite, which includes ConferenceLinc, LearnLinc, MeetingLinc, and SupportLinc.
With close to 17,000 full-time equivalent students, more than 109,000 alumni, and 26 campuses in 11 major metropolitan areas, National University is the second-largest private, nonprofit university in California. National University offers more than 55 undergraduate and graduate degree and 16 teacher credential and certificate programs. National University selected LearnLinc after an extensive evaluation of virtual classroom software to provide Internet distance learning to their students. LearnLinc closely simulates a classroom environment online and often surpasses the learning experience that can be produced from a traditional classroom setting. The University will also use MeetingLinc for internal and departmental University meetings; ConferenceLinc for keynotes from the University president, Dr. Jerry Lee, as well as other special event speeches; and SupportLinc to provide customer support for students using its synchronous and asynchronous educational courses.
National University chose iLinc for its superior training capabilities but also for how it seamlessly handles integration. The University will completely integrate iLinc’s Web conferencing into its current technology infrastructure, including the ability for students and staff to access iLinc through the existing log-in and integrated address books. iLinc also provides easy-to-use integration tools and a free and fully supported API that will enable National University to quickly insert iLinc into the existing Internet distance learning (IDL) program offered by the University.
“National University evaluated more than 20 different Web conferencing products and providers and found the Installed iLinc solution was the best fit for our enterprise-wide needs,” said Dr. Eileen Heveron, director of information technology, National University. “iLinc’s flexible licensing options, strong training capabilities, and integrated audio, video and Voice-over-IP proved to be the best choice for our faculty, students, and staff.”
“iLinc’s Web conferencing and collaboration software provides universities, such as National University, with a total package of Web conferencing products that fit the needs for both internal meetings and conferencing, as well as world-class synchronous training capabilities for students,” said Dr. James Powers, president and chief executive officer of iLinc Communications, Inc.
“We find that customers appreciate the control associated with purchasing and owning our We bconferencing software as well as the significant savings from a total cost of ownership perspective,” added Powers.
National University joins other private, corporate, and public learning institutions such as The State Universities of New York, Kent State University, University of New Hampshire, White Hat Management, Aetna, and EDS in choosing iLinc Communications for its Web conferencing, collaboration, and virtual classroom training. iLinc Communications focuses on industries that demand secure, consistent, scalable, and manageable enterprise Web conferencing and collaboration such as professional services, as well as the financial services and high technology communities.
