Health & Human Services Deploys GeoLearning’s Hosted LMS for 66,000 Employees
GeoLearning, Inc., the leading provider of ASP-hosted human capital management and development (HCMD) solutions, announced today that the United States Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), a federal government agency employing more than 66,000 employees, has selected the company’s GeoMaestro learning management platform to power Health & Human Services University (HHSU) and manage human capital performance via the Internet. The $1.26 million year-long contract includes an option for HHS to renew each year for four years.
GeoMaestro is an Internet-hosted human capital management and development platform that enables organizations to capture, create, manage and share knowledge to improve workforce productivity, accelerate critical business processes, and drive organizational performance. The system centralizes and automates the entire learning management process, making the administration of enterprise learning and development both effective and efficient. The GeoLearning platform is also compliant with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, which requires all federal agencies to implement information technology accessible to persons with disabilities.
In addition to the GeoMaestro learning management system (LMS), HHS will also deploy the following GeoLearning modules:
- Learning Content Management System (LCMS) to develop, manage and deliver custom learning content.
- GeoConnect to power live web conferencing.
- Web-based Class & Event Scheduler to manage traditional instructor-led training.
- GeoLearning Analytics to measure learning impact and return on investment.
- CompetencyPlus to administer performance management, link individual competency gaps to learning and development, and implement competency-based HR processes.
- Product Library to manage physical inventory of training materials.
- E-commerce engine.
The HHS program is part of the federal government’s Gov Online Learning Center e-Training Initiative. The Gov Online Learning Center (GOLC) at www.golearn.gov, which is also powered by GeoLearning’s GeoMaestro™ LMS, provides one-stop access to e-training services for more than 1.8 million people employed by the federal government, making it the e-learning industry’s largest implementation. The e-Training Initiative and GOLC is an effort by the Office of Management & Budget and the U.S. Office of Personnel Management to simplify and unify e-training services across federal government and is one of 24 e-government initiatives that support President George W.
