SunGard SCT Announces .NET Version of SCT PocketRecruiter

MALVERN, Pa., February 07, 2005 — SunGard SCT, an operating unit of SunGard (NYSE:SDS), today announced the general availability of SCT PocketRecruiter 2.0. Built on the popular Microsoft .NET platform, SCT PocketRecruiter 2.0 is now compatible with a broader range of personal digital assistant (PDA) devices.

Microsoft.NET is a set of software technologies for connecting information, people, systems, and devices. This new generation of technology is based on Web services—small building-block applications that can connect to each other as well as to other, larger applications over the Internet. The first release of SCT PocketRecruiter was developed using embedded Visual Basic.

SCT PocketRecruiter provides off-campus admissions professionals with mobile access to the most current information about prospective students, including demographic, educational and test score data, that resides in an institution’s administrative databases. As a result, admissions professionals no longer have to rely on hardcopy reports containing information about prospective students that are outdated soon after they are printed. SCT PocketRecruiter provides a more personal and effective recruiting experience for both the admissions professional and the prospective student.

SCT PocketRecruiter, which was designed by admission recruiters, also enables the set up of recruiting events. Users can update records and/or upload changes back to the institution’s administrative system through their PocketPC, enabling admissions staff to follow up with prospects soon after an event.

SCT PocketRecruiter is available as a product for SCT PowerCAMPUS, SCT Matrix, and SCT Banner administrative systems, and for other administrative systems through custom services engagements. The solution uses a synchronization method called Active Sync that enables elements to be synchronized with the user’s desktop. SCT PocketRecruiter includes PowerSync, a synchronization utility that synchronizes information with the Pocket PC once an administrative system’s data has been updated in the PocketRecruiter database. PowerSync options include a quick sync, which checks for any updates since the last sync, and a complete sync, which rebuilds the database.
