Two Positions for Fall, 2006: San Diego State University
The Department of Educational Technology at San Diego State University is pleased to announce the availability of two positions for Fall, 2006 at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. One position will focus on instructional design and new learning technologies, the other on technologies in the public schools.
A doctorate in Educational Technology, Educational Computing, Instructional Systems, or a closely related field is required. Consideration can be extended to candidates who are enrolled in doctoral programs with the understanding that completion of the doctorate by the time of appointment will be a condition of hiring. Applicants should have a record of empirical research and publication in refereed journals or substantial evidence of the potential for success as a scholar. They should also demonstrate currency in relevant areas of expertise and the ability to teach courses in two or more appropriate areas.
Applicants for the Instructional Design and New Learning Technologies position must be able to teach a course in Instructional Design and in one of the following other areas: distance education; evaluation of learning products and services; technologies for pre-service educators; performance technology; management of education and training; or design of learning communities and environments.
Applicants for the Technologies in the Public Schools, K-12 Technology position must be able to teach a course in pre-service teacher education² and in one of the following other areas: Integration of technology into
K-12 curriculum or Technology for school leaders.
