University of Phoenix Selects NETg to Help Create Customizable Courseware for Technology and Business Programs
NAPERVILLE, IL- NETg, powering intelligent decisions through learning, has been selected by the University of Phoenix, the nation’s largest private university, to provide customized curriculum courseware for its students. The NETg-powered courses will be incorporated into the University’s certification and degree program offerings in the fields of Business and Information Technology.
“Many companies offer e-learning solutions,” said Dr. Laura Palmer Noone, President of the University of Phoenix, “The deciding factor in our choice of NETg is their commitment to sound educational and instructional design principles. Like the University of Phoenix, NETg uses Bloom’s Taxonomy to sequence and level learning. This focus has enabled NETg to create effective programs that are considered by most to be the best in the industry.”
The agreement provides the University of Phoenix with access to NETg’s award-winning learning library of more than 1,200 course titles. By using NETg’s NLO+ ™ the University can mix and match content from different NETg courses and align specific simulations, assessments, and text with University course-specific learning objectives.
“Due to our flexible learning object architecture, we’re able to help the University of Phoenix anticipate, innovate and deliver the type of instruction their students demand,” said Gary Lopez, President and Chief Executive Officer of NETg. “This flexibility will allow the University of Phoenix to determine what information is relevant for their students and will help them create instruction that achieves desired results faster.”
NETg’s learning object architecture is at the heart of the relationship with the University of Phoenix. NETg courses are modular in structure, with each course made up of several NETg Learning Objects™ (NLOs). Learning objects provide a learning experience that is designed for each student based on his or her existing knowledge. As a result, students can learn more about what they need to know faster. Today, NETg offers more than 75,000 learning objects, the largest repository in the world.
“Our agreement with the University of Phoenix gives them the best learning experience available on a given subject without the time and expense associated with continuous updating of course content. This allows the University to focus on what they do best: delivery of outcomes-based higher education for working adults, both online and on campus” said Lopez.
