George Mason University and VCampus Teach Trainers to Deliver Web -Based Learning Through New Online Course

January 16, 2002

VCampus® Corporation

(Nasdaq: VCMP), the leading provider of end-to-end, web-based e-Learning solutions,

and George Mason University, are launching the online workshop titled "Online

Instruction: Migrating Traditional Training to Online," to help trainers

deliver more effective programs by incorporating online communications techniques.

The eight-week, online workshop begins February 4, 2002, and provides four Continuing

Education Credits from GMU upon successful completion.

The online workshop, developed by VCampus and delivered through GMU’s Office

of Continuing Professional Education, is intended for instructors, course developers

and training managers in the corporate, government and higher education arenas

who want to deliver web-based learning solutions or who are seeking to complement

existing classroom instruction with an online component. Depending on the participant’s

e-learning background, the online workshop requires an average of five hours

per week in reading, researching, and contributing to the conference thread

discussions.

"This course is an important addition to our offerings for professionals,"

said Janet Niblock, Executive Director, Office of Continuing Professional Education

at George Mason University. "Trainers will learn how to augment their organizations’

existing training programs through highly effective, lower cost e-learning solutions

that provide new options for learners. The workshop will also help trainers

that want to launch e-learning programs that generate revenue. "

The workshop is unique in that it uses the same online training techniques

that it teaches. Eighty percent of the course is delivered asynchronously (self-paced

instruction) and 20 percent is delivered synchronously (live online sessions).

"Asynchronous delivery allows learners the freedom to learn at their own

pace, according to their own schedule because they are not all required to be

online simultaneously," said Valerie Watson, Director of Online Instructor

Services at VCampus, who developed and will teach the course. "The synchronous

sessions replicate classroom situations when live interaction among instructors

and students is optimal." For additional information on this course, visit
