Minnesota Online is one of five goals of the System 2005 Work Plan

Both as a system and through the individual colleges and universities, there is a commitment to enhance educational programs and services by supporting innovation and quality, contribute to Minnesota’s economic vitality by providing access to certificate and diploma programs and associate, bachelor’s and master’s degrees and strengthen performance by demonstrating accountability and aligning college and university programs, services and business processes.

Priority goal number 4 is to “Fully develop and launch Minnesota Online.” This will include College and University Responsibilities to Support Minnesota Online Collaborative standards, Continue to develop online courses, programs and student services and Work with other colleges and universities to develop and offer online courses, programs and student services. The Office of the Chancellor Responsibilities are to Communicate and support Minnesota Online Collaborative standard, Provide support and tools to develop online courses, programs and student services, Organize forums to help colleges and universities collaborate on online courses, programs and student services, Manage the Higher Learning Commission accreditation process for approving online programs, Increase the number of corporate partnerships for online learning and training, and Train faculty and provide resources for online curriculum development.

Minnesota Online how has over 70 programs and 1,000 courses providing learning opportunities for certificates, diplomas and two-year, four-year degrees and master’s degrees.
