American Public University System names new department chair for key program

CHARLES TOWN, W.Va., March 21, 2005 – American Public University System recently named Frank Rosa, who has taught at the Air Force Academy, the University of Notre Dame and elsewhere, as department chair of its government and international relations program.

“Dr. Rosa brings distinguished academic credentials and valuable public and private sector experience,” says Wally Boston, president and chief executive officer for the University System, a distance learning institution serving m ore than 12,000 students worldwide. “He also has the strategic planning and administration experience necessary to shape the program and ensure its growth.”

Rosa earned his doctorate in international relations from Notre Dame. He was chairman of the defense studies and international relations program at the Air Force Academy. He has more than 15 years experience teaching at the graduate and undergraduate level. He was campus director at DeVry University, where he oversaw daily operations and directed graduate programs.

Rosa is a 23-year veteran of the Air Force, serving 13 years in fighter squadrons in the U.S., England, Thailand and Korea. He also has consulted regarding management training and organizational change.
