The U.S. attorney’s office in Cedar Rapids alleges that six women and a man fraudulently applied for aid to pay for distance education courses at Cedar Rapids’ Kirkwood Community College. The scheme, which lasted from January 2001 to March 2004, netted the group about $400,000, the indictment states.
