VTEL Responds to its Customers with Release of Galaxy Version 2.02

AUSTIN, Texas – After months of interviews with end users, purchase decision makers and resellers, VTEL® Corporation (Nasdaq: VTEL) improved several features of its leading videoconferencing system, Galaxy™, and is giving the resulting software upgrade, Version 2.02, to existing Galaxy customers free of charge. Aside from several performance improvements, enhancements in Galaxy 2.02 include:

• More features for working with still frame graphics, including annotation and faster slide send;

• User interfaces in German, Japanese and Chinese. VTEL operates a wholly owned foreign enterprise in China, where VTEL is the best-selling videoconferencing system;

• The H.331 broadcast feature, enabling one-way transmissions of audio and video to many recipient sites. H.331 transmissions are frequently broadcast via satellite and used in many VTEL customers throughout China;

• Uninstall capability to make future upgrades easier.

Galaxy 2.02 is available free to any VTEL Galaxy customer, even if their Galaxy unit is no longer under warranty or covered by a service contract.
