February 5, 2004

Through its architecture, Sentient DISCOVER seamlessly integrates learning management systems, library management systems, OpenURL Resolvers and content repositories such as online journal databases.

Birkbeck – University of London, Bradford University, Buckingham Chilterns University College, Stirling University and the University of Edinburgh are just a few institutions benefiting from Sentient DISCOVER with Athens Authentication.

Sue Godsell, Subject Librarian at Birkbeck – University of London commented: “With Sentient DISCOVER and Athens single sign-on, academics and students now have a safe password protected gateway to their learning materials, both on and off campus”.

Sentient DISCOVER and Athens dramatically enhances the students learning experience by enabling greater access to their learning resources.

Athens commented: “We are pleased to add Sentient DISCOVER to our growing list of Athens-authenticated resources (currently 260 resources). We are excited by its potential to provide a seamless single authenticated environment for users.”

Since its launch in January 2003, more than 30 institutions have chosen Sentient DISCOVER over other systems. Sentient Learning aims to enhance the quality of learning and teaching throughout the world, with greatest consideration for usability, accessibility, and interoperability.
