The Photonics & Optoelectronics Graduate Certificate provides a fundamental overview of electro-optics and fiber optics in data rates and the opportunity to specialize in fiber optics, medical optics, device physics, and remote sensing/image processing. Four courses compose the graduate certificate, one required course being offered this semester, “Electro-optics and Fiber Optics,” and three electives including “Fiber Optic Communications and Networks,” also being offered this semester. Two undergraduate courses offered this spring, “Introduction to Fiber Optics” and “Introduction to Optical Systems,” can be applied to the undergraduate certificate program, also available online. Classes start January 23rd, but students can register through February 1st and pay no late fees.
