Trivantis Unveils e-Learning Authoring Tool for Pocket PC Delivery

June 5, 2001

ORLANDO, Fla. — Trivantis Corporation recently announced the launch of Lectoramany Pocket Publisher — a software tool for authoring and publishing e-learning content to the Pocket PC.

Lectora Pocket Publisher is an advanced authoring system which gives trainers and educators the ability to easily develop and publish proprietary learning content for delivery to Pocket PCs — like the popular Hewlett-Packard JornadaINTO, Casio CassiopeiaINTO, and Compaq iPAQINTO.

With Lectora Pocket Publisher, everyday computer users without programming knowledge can create interactive training and course development on their desktop computers and instantly take it to Pocket PCs. The user-friendly interface, drag-and-drop functionality, and advanced testing capabilities make it easy to create engaging, mobile content by integrating text, images, audio clips, animations, and interactive exercises into a portable learning environment.

The advanced testing suite enables trainers and educators to quickly build review questions and tests using any combination of true/false, multiple choice, short answer, essay, drag and drop, and fill-in-the-blank questions. Single-click publishing creates a single install file which can be distributed to Pocket PCs anywhere.

“We are dedicated to eliminating the barriers trainers encounter when publishing educational content.” said Tim Loudermilk, CEO of Trivantis. “Lectora Pocket Publisher enables educators to deliver fully functional e-learning multimedia content to the pocket pc platform without the traditionally high time requirements and programming costs.”

The Microsoft Windows-based Pocket PC platform recently surpassed worldwide sales of 1 million units. With the widespread popularity of the PDA (personal digital assistant), mobile education is the next frontier for e-learning. Trainers and educators are discovering an exciting world of possibilities for mobile delivery of educational content and just-in-time resources. From soft skills to sales training, organizations are already taking advantage the benefits of portable content delivery.

Trivantis will unveil and demonstrate Lectora Pocket Publisher at the ASTD International Conference and Expo at booth number 1150 at the Orange County Convention Center, Orlando, FL, June 4-6, 2001.
