The Isolde Information Service is online!

May 14, 2003

ISOLDE is a 24 month project (1 February 2002 – 31 January 2004) coordinated by EFECOT (European Federation for the Education of Travelling Communities, Belgium) and supported by the European Commission’s Minerva Programme. Its information service provides the following data for the UK, France, the Netherlands, Italy, Germany and Bulgaria:

· Facts and figures about interrupted learners.

· Information about the normal compulsory school provision as well as special provisions aimed at meeting the needs of the target learners. Also included are the contact details for each of these services and links for further information.

· A library of references to learning, teaching and support materials, specifically suitable for interrupted learners. For each of these materials an extensive description (content, media format, language, target group etc) and information on how to get access to them is provided.

At this moment, the facts and figures and the information about the school provision have been published on the website (www.isolde.info) for nearly all countries, both in English as well as in the original language. The Library of educational resources is currently being tested by the project partners and already contains 296 entries. Consulting or adding entries to it is only possible via a special username and password. Anyone interested in having access to the Library can contact EFECOT at efecot@efecot.net.
