Colleges and universities are making slow yet steady progress on eCommerce and eService initiatives, according to new data from the 2001 Campus Computing Survey More than a fourth (27.6 percent) of the nation’s colleges and universities can process credit card payments from their campus Web sites, a gain of 50 percent in the past year (up from 18.6 percent in 2000 and 5.1 percent in 1998).
