Technology sparks a college ‘copying’ problem

The other day, I stopped by to visit a certain freshman at her University of Washington dormitory. As you walk down the hallway, a lot of the room doors are open, and you can glance in. Some stuff hasn’t changed in decades — there are rooms with piles of clothes on the floor and empty potato-chip bags; there are rooms in which the door is plastered with posters and magazine pictures and ads with that enduring theme: guys and girls.
