Rapid Switch to ANGEL LMS “Seamless”: Kudos roar in as students respond to ANGEL launch.

April 21, 2004

Sessions.edu CEO Doris Granatowski was skeptical about “the timeline and the complexity” required for the school’s transition to ANGEL. Sessions.edu was moving its entire curriculum of more than 60 courses—and over 2,000 students and instructors—in just two months. But, said Granatowski, “I loved being proved wrong. We couldn’t be more pleased with the customer reaction and the unbelievably seamless transition to ANGEL.”

“We chose ANGEL because it is full-featured and intuitively designed, with excellent communication tools, and customizable in both functionality and look-and-feel,” explained Gordon Drummond, Sessions.edu director of curriculum. “As a school of design, Sessions.edu needed an LMS that could support its specific educational model and visual identity—and adapt to the school’s needs as it grows. ANGEL provided that, and CyberLearning Labs’ training and support has been simply stellar.”

“In a very tight six-week timeframe, we needed to migrate 60-plus courses, develop student and instructor orientation/training materials, configure the environment, implement our look-and-feel, sync the new environment with our SIS processes, and essentially deliver a bouquet to our students and faculty,” said Drummond. Working as partners, the Sessions.edu and CyberLearning Labs teams pulled off the migration seamlessly.

Student response to the ANGEL migration has been overwhelmingly positive. One student commented, “This is like joining a whole new college and a shot in the arm for my motivation. It’s not just software but an enabling mechanism to bring the student/staff designers together. It will produce a lot more interactivity and cross-fertilization of ideas which is superb when community members all share the common motivation of design.” Other students commended ANGEL’s ease-of-use, robust features, improved interactivity, and visual class roster.

“CyberLearning Labs strives to meet customer timeframes and objectives and is pleased to be part of Session.edu’s success in this especially quick change,” said Christopher Clapp company president and CEO. “Knowing that Sessions.edu’s students are focused on design makes their feedback particularly gratifying.”
