Pathlore Extends Technology Leadership with Expanded Support for Virtual Classroom Services

January 26, 2005

Cupertino, Calif. – 1/25/05 – Pathlore Software Corporation, a global leader in providing learning management software and services to industry and government, today announced the latest additions to its CollaborationPathâ„¢ family of Virtual Classroom Connectors. Interwise iMeeting and Microsoft Live Meeting join the industry’s richest portfolio of out-of-the-box learning management system connectors, which currently includes Centra7, Interwise iClass, and WebEx Training Center. Using a simple configuration setting, Pathlore’s industry leading Virtual Classroom Connector technology allows customers to independently select and integrate popular virtual classroom/web conferencing services with the Pathlore Learning Management System (LMS).

Virtual classrooms allow employees, business partners and customers to access training over the Web. Instructors and domain experts can cost-effectively communicate with a geographically distributed audience and record the session for playback. The Pathlore LMS manages the administration and reporting associated with virtual classroom sessions. Common processes – such as registration and results tracking – are administered in precisely the same manner as traditional classroom-based instruction and self-paced e-learning. This makes it relatively easy for organizations to implement a “blended learning” strategy.

“Our technology integration sets us apart from our competitors who require an expensive, professional services engagement to integrate their learning management systems with the customer’s virtual classroom service of choice,” said Leonard Greenberg, Pathlore’s chief technology officer. “Virtual classrooms are part of an organization’s collaboration infrastructure, and we want to support the IT choices our customers make. Our modular Virtual Classroom Connector technology is also ‘LMS-release independent.’ So you can expect to see Pathlore rapidly add support for additional connectors, such as IBM and others, that simply plug into our LMS.”

“Pathlore now supports a scaleable range of Interwise e-learning solutions with the addition of iMeeting,” said MaryAlice Colen, vice president and chief learning officer of Interwise. “Both iClass and iMeeting are parts of our ECP ConnectÔ enterprise conferencing solution, which delivers e-learning, web conferencing and voice conferencing in one integrated software solution. Integration with learning management systems such as Pathlore’s is key to meeting e-learning customer demand.”
