Option One Mortgage Selects Knowledge Quest for National Online Software Training

October 12, 2001

Option One Mortgage has signed a three year agreement with Laguna Beach, California-based e-learning company Knowledge Quest to provide Web-based software training to employees located in 30 branch offices, nationally.

“When Option One converted to a Windows platform, we decided to use the opportunity to provide our 2,500 associates with online training of Microsoft Office 2000 and Microsoft Outlook,” said Mike Dickens, IT Trainer for Option One Mortgage. “We were in search of an efficient and cost-effective manner to offer this training and after evaluating numerous vendors, we found that the high-quality modular design and real-world simulations provided in the Knowledge Quest products offered the best learning experience for our team.”

Users of the courseware are able to quickly target courses and lessons aimed at their specific needs. Because the courseware is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week through the company’s intranet, students will be able to complete the courses at their individual paces — when it is convenient to them.

Knowledge Quest, a privately-held company, has been developing Web-based software training courseware since 1996. “We were the first company to create Web-based software training products using a realistic, full-screen software simulation,” said Mark Dawson, President of Knowledge Quest. “Using an authoring tool called ‘Xstream Media’, we create 10-minute lessons that are less than 100Kb in size and deliver them quickly, without the need for a high-bandwidth connection.”
