Online classes enrollment expected to increase, ed chief says

Enrollment in Mississippi’s Virtual Public School that lets high school students learn via online classes has seen rapid growth.

Projections are the 2,500 to 3,000 students taking online classes now will climb to 10,000 students in a couple of years, Mississippi Superintendent of Education Hank Bounds says.

The state Board of Education discussed online classes and a host of other topics during two days of meetings concluding in Jackson today.
