Oklahoma Realizes its Vision for Individualized, Web-Based Learning Using Encarta Class Server

July 13, 2001

In Oklahoma, nine school districts are piloting an initiative designed to demonstrate the potential of Web-based instruction. Through a statewide virtual school based on a robust Microsoft Windows-based technology infrastructure with statewide broadband connectivity, the Oklahoma VISION project will develop and deliver a Web-based, Internet enabled mathematics curriculum for all students in the state. With Encarta Class Server, initiative leaders found the curriculum development and instructional management tool that they needed to be successful in extending the power of Web-based learning to all 500 Oklahoma school districts.
