NISH Renews Hosted LMS Contract with GeoLearning
GeoLearning, Inc., the leading provider of ASP-hosted human capital management and development (HCMD) solutions, announced today that NISH has renewed its contract for the company’s GeoExpress™ learning management platform. NISH is the national non-profit agency that helps state and private not-for-profit agencies participate in the Javits-Wagner-O’Day Program (JWOD), which provides employment opportunities for people who are blind or have other severe disabilities.
Originally launched in 2003, the NISH Institute Online campus offers a wide array of training opportunities designed to enhance professional and organizational development for its more than 500 Community Rehabilitation Program (CRP) partners across the county. GeoLearning also provides Internet hosting, security and maintenance services for the initiative, as well as 24×7 Help Desk support for students, NISH employees and administrators.
“The GeoLearning system has played a significant role in helping NISH fulfill its commitment to building the capacity of our CRP partners,†said Judith Hall-Bayliss, training manager at NISH. “Together we’ve created an online university that offers more than 150 e-learning courses aimed at increasing the leadership, management and business competencies of our associated and JWOD-producing partners. NISH’s federal customers also find our training helps them learn more about how to operate within the JWOD environment.â€
GeoExpressâ„¢ is an Internet-hosted human capital management and development platform that enables organizations to capture, create, manage and share knowledge to improve workforce productivity, accelerate critical business processes, and drive organizational performance. The system centralizes and automates the entire learning management process, making the administration of enterprise learning and development both effective and efficient. The GeoLearning platform is also compliant with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, which requires all federal agencies to implement information technology accessible to persons with disabilities.
In addition to the GeoExpress™ LMS platform, NISH recently deployed GeoLearning’s Web-based Learning Content Management System (LCMS) to begin developing and delivering its own custom learning content. The resulting courses will help non-profit organizations within the community rehabilitation industry increase their capacity to serve clients and ability to operate effectively within the JWOD program.
