SERC (The Satellite Educational Resources Consortium) is the only distance learning organization in the U.S. that combines the resources of state departments of education and public television licensees. As a nationally recognized, nonprofit provider of curriculum-based resources, SERC has collaborated for the past 14 years with educators, broadcast professionals, national, state, and local curriculum organizations, video distributors, Web technologists, and others to develop and deliver a variety of curricular and professional development resources via satellite, VHS tape, CD-ROM, and Internet.
A pioneer of traditional, live satellite-delivered courses, SERC offers an array of K-12 courses, including Japanese, Physics, and AP Calculus. Since its inception in 1988, the consortium has delivered 31 secondary and middle school course offerings to more than 60,000 students in 24 states.
