All Online Programs Converted to eCollege System(SM) in Just Four Weeks

DENVER and FOND DU LAC, Wis. – March 17, 2003 – eCollege(SM) [Nasdaq: ECLG], a leading provider of technology and services for online higher education programs, and Moraine Park Technical College today announced record numbers of online courses and enrollments in Moraine Park’s online programs for the spring term. Moraine Park set these records while achieving 89 percent retention in its online programs, up almost 25 percent from online retention rates when the online programs launched in the fall of 2001.

Moraine Park, the leader in providing the most online programs in Wisconsin’s Technical College System, converted all of its online programs to the eCollege System(SM) in only four weeks for the start of the spring semester. eCollege’s solution includes the course management system, as well as all of the critical support services for student and faculty success and program growth.

“As we continue to increase our online offerings, we must remain focused on student achievement, as that is what will ultimately fuel our growth in the long run,” said Peter Rettler, Teaching and Learning Technology Partner, Moraine Park Technical College. “During our recent transition, eCollege provided a level of continuity that allowed faculty and students to concentrate on the flow of the curriculum from one semester to the next, without worrying about the technology. eCollege’s faculty training, 24×7 help desk support, and reliable and easy-to-use platform greatly contributed to our user satisfaction and retention.”

In addition to all of Moraine Park’s general education courses being available online, the College also offers six online programs, including Computer Information Systems – Micro Programmer Specialist, Basic Clinical Coding, Emergency Dispatch, Legal Office Skills, Water Quality Technician, and Web Developer. More online courses are scheduled to launch for the fall 2003 semester.

“As a pioneer of online education in Wisconsin, Moraine Park has always been committed to providing its faculty and students with the technology and services necessary to help them achieve their educational goals,” said Oakleigh Thorne, chairman and CEO of eCollege. “We are proud to have played an important role in the achievement of Moraine Park’s high retention rates, which in turn can translate into continued program growth and success for the College.”
