MENTERGY STRENGTHENS GOVERNMENT AND RESELLER CHANNEL – APPOINTS PETE MASALIN

Atlanta, GA, April 2, 2001 – The U.S. subsidiary of Gilat Communications,

Ltd. (NASDAQ:GICOF), Mentergy, Inc., a leading North American provider of

enterprise e-Learning solutions, today announced that Pete Masalin has been

named as Sales Director, Government and Reseller Channel. Mr. Masalin will

expand Mentergy’s e-Learning solution to state and federal government

institutions, while building an integrated VAR channel in the U.S. to

service the explosive growth in e-Learning sales.

Mr. Masalin will strengthen Mentergy’s reseller strategy to partner with

leading organizations that understand the value of blended learning

solutions in enhancing human performance. New revenue opportunities will be

afforded to value added resellers of LearnLinc, Designer’s Edge and Quest as

Mentergy brings new products and services to market. Mr. Masalin will also

lead the Mentergy government sales team, building on existing widespread

sales of Designer’s Edge, Quest and custom courseware development services.

Mr. Masalin was previously Vice President of Sales and Marketing for

Netcisive, where he was responsible for marketing strategy and the

development of a global channel and sales team. As ProsoftTraining.com’s

Vice President of Strategic Alliances, he was directly responsible for the

development of an international channel for a vendor neutral Internet

training curriculum that encompassed six continents. His responsibilities

have included supervising more than 200 people, and managing budgets of more

than U.S. $14 million. He has also implemented and supervised numerous

programs that trained 15,000 personnel annually. Mr. Masalin spent over 12

years as a Marine Corps officer before entering the private sector.
