MedCases Named as Finalist for Prestigious eHealthcareWorld Award for Best Continuing Medical Education Site

December 1, 2000

MedCases was named as a finalist for its MyMedCases.com site, the Company’s CME application that allows health professionals to interact with simulated patients over the Internet.

The user plays the role of treating physician, solving cases using information requested form the patient medical file – determining a differential diagnosis, conducting laboratory tests, completing a final diagnosis, and prescribing an appropriate course of treatment.

MedCases CME products are structured as a monthly online journal composed of cases customized to the educational goals of the individual subscriber.

“To be honored as a finalist for the best continuing medical education site really validates the groundbreaking MedCases has been doing as a true innovator in e-learning services for the healthcare industry,” said Debbie Hull, president and chief executive officer of MedCases.

“This award recognizes the powerful impact the Internet offers for influencing the quality of healthcare and medical education.”

The eHealthcareWorld Awards recognize and promote groundbreaking achievement in the creation, development and execution of eHealth through exceptional Web sites. Entrants from around the world compete for awards in three levels — Gold, Silver and Bronze — in six categories representing a variety of health-focused Internet applications.

Award finalists are judged on numerous criteria, including content & design, structure and navigation, performance, and interactivity. Awards will be presented this year at a special dinner ceremony on December 5 at the Sheraton New York Hotel and Towers.
