Lernout & Hauspie files for bankruptcy protection

(November 29, 2000) Embattled speech-recognition technology vendor Lernout & Hauspie Speech Products NV (L&H) today announced that it has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in the U.S. after being unable to reach an agreement to get additional financing from its lenders.
