Integrative Arts Course Taught via The Web

October 16, 2001

This fall, Penn State’s Palmer Museum of Art, Center for the Performing Arts and Department of Integrative Arts have teamed to create a new writing-intensive seminar course taught via the World Wide Web.

William Kelly, Integrative Arts department head, says the course aims to stimulate alternative cultural experiences for students. For this semester’s topic, “Arts from Asia,” participants are watching Asian films screened as part of the Palmer Museum of Art Film Series.

They also will experience a performance by Wadaiko Yamato, a Japanese drum ensemble, through the Center for the Performing Arts at Eisenhower Auditorium on Nov. 7, and attend exhibitions of Chinese and Indian art at the Palmer Museum.
