IMLS to Finally Get Librarian as Leader

The federal Institution of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), which was created in 1996 to centralize funding for museums and libraries, will be directed for the first time by a librarian. President Bush intends to nominate as IMLS director Robert S. Martin, who is currently a professor and director of the School of Library and Information Studies at Texas Woman’s University in Denton.
